Eswatini Competition Commission

It was a day that pulsed with purpose and shared conviction. On 14 March 2025, the ESCC and the OFS came together to mark World Consumer Rights Day with a bold statement of intent.

In a world where consumers often feel overwhelmed or unheard, this collaboration sent a powerful message: you are not alone, and your rights matter.

The day unfolded with meaningful conversations, media interviews, and a strong online presence that made it hard to miss. Whether tuning in to EBIS, catching the Kusile breakfast show on Eswatini TV, or scrolling through Channel YeMaswati TV’s livestream, many EmaSwati were reminded of the importance of being informed, asking questions, and standing up for fair treatment in the marketplace. What made the event stand out was not just the banners or the media blitz — it was the sense of collaboration. Different regulators, stakeholders, and citizens sat side by side, exchanging ideas, asking important questions, and rallying around one common goal of protecting the consumer. The partnership between the ESCC and OFS was applauded as a shining example of what collaboration can achieve.

Perhaps the most powerful take-away came from the participants themselves, who called for even more spaces like this — where issues can be discussed openly, information shared freely, and partnerships built intentionally.
